Why We Love This Watch

Originally, Rolex watches were worn as rugged tool watches as it was proven by Sir Edmund Hillary, who wore a Rolex Oyster Perpetual during the first-ever summit to Mount Everest. Based on the Oyster case made in 1926, which made it the first waterproof wristwatch, it was then tested by Mercedes Gleitze, who strapped it on her wrist while swimming across the English Channel for 10 hours! With a gold case and a dial to match, simply put, this is one elegant Rolex. Gold watches can be very intimidating to wear due to its strong impression and luxury, however, Rolex is such masters when it comes to subtlety and they were able to tone down such a strong, but a precious element. A smooth bezel with clean lines and the trademark "cyclops" date, it still has its tool roots visible, however, the same features can make this a very wearable watch even for non-gold lovers! And, no you cannot take these out for a swim.
